Research: Using the following wiki page to discover what Infographics are and how they are used in Business. Develop an understanding of how to create your own infographics.

Now that you've done some research on how to make an Infographic and what makes a successful graphic you will begin to develop your own ideas for this project.

  1. This page and your sketchbook visual journaling will all be part of your research.
  2. You will be using your choice of software (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop or InDesign) to design your infographic.
  3. The size of the graphic will depend on which project you choose.
  4. Create a wiki page here that includes your final written artist statement presenting your Infographic to the class.
  5. Post the infographic on the wiki page in a size that is easily viewable for class critique. You will need to save the infographic as a jpg in order for it to be viewable on the wiki page.
  6. This wiki page with the embedded graphic and artist statement is your final exam.
  7. Please note that there are additional artist statement questions you are being asked. See the website for the Exam Statement Requirements.

REMEMBER: THE PURPOSE OF AN INFOGRAPHIC IS TO VISUALLY ORGANIZE A COMPLEX TOPIC IN A CREATIVE, VISUALLY APPEALING GRAPHIC, THAT UTILIZES CREATIVE TYPOGRAPHY, BUT ALLOWS THE VIEWER TO GET THE POINT THROUGH IMAGES, GRAPHICS, GRAPHS AND OTHER VISUALS.


You will choose one of the Infographic Projects from the Menu of choices here. Each Infographic has a real client in the Pewaukee School District for whom you will be designing.
  1. Part of the assignment is to gather as much information as possible about the topic.
  2. This may include interviewing the teacher, administrator or students involved in the project. You may Skype with the people.
  3. You may also Google search to see if there is any local news information about the subject.
  4. Lastly you will start to pull together the key elements of the topic and develop full color thumbnails of your project. Use your Visual Journaling techniques to guide your process. I will expect to see your visual journal pages as part of what you turn in for the final credit for this unit. Reportable standard 1 and 2 will reflect not only the final Infographic, but also the Visual Journal pages you develop to plan your Infographic.

Choose an Infographic Topic from the list here. List your name in the column under the graphic you're choosing. There are a limited number of spots available for each topic. Once the spots are full you will have to choose a different topic. Link your name to the final page that you create to turn in your Infographic.
